Fieldrunners has returned!

I know this is old news since the update came out awhile a go but I finally decided to get one of the two new levels “Skyway” and I have to say I’m very impressed by what I’ve been playing.

Since they’ve joined OpenFeint I’ve found myself hooked again, playing the app to try and get as many of the achievements as possible whilst enjoying the original three levels that came with the game.

They’ve promised that they’d create more new levels for users but all remains to be seen whether they again charge the faithful to play them or whether they’ll package afew maps together and release them for the many great users.

2009: A Year In Review

Well its  the 30th of December and the year is nearly over, so now is about the time to look back and review how the year has been.

There’s been so much that has happened this year from the fall of many major companies, the banking and economic crisis, the first Black American President and much much more.

Far away from the world of politics and money, my life has been a lot simpler. I passed my first year of university and started my second year. Having met so many new and great people in Sheffield this city has become somewhat of a second home and has been the place of many exciting experiences this year, and hopefully many more to come in 2010. The university isn’t bad either. :)

2009 saw me turn 20, and also saw my first year anniversary with my girlfriend which was on the same day. So far December has been an amazing month, and a great end to a great year. This month, I’ve had my 20th birthday, celebrated that and my one year anniversary with my girlfriend and all my other friends, spent my Christmas back in Manchester with my family. I also got to pay a visit to my old workplace, Next, where I got to see all my old work friends and spend the sale in good old Manchester :)

Talking about Next, it has been an interesting year with the company, but after three years my interest and enjoyment is waning. So many of the people that made this nice little shop so good over the past year have now left, for various reasons, but that has meant the atmosphere and all the good times at what I enjoyed as a place of work have now gone. So 2010 is going to be the year of new starts and possibly a new job, hopefully as soon as possible.

Throughout the year my love of my iPod touch has been huge and I’m sure I’ve spent so much money on it which isn’t good. :S But now my  interest is not really there anymore, I do plan to buy a new iPhone in the new year because I need one since my current phone is broke. So I thought why not upgrade to an iPhone and then I can sell my Touch to someone and save a bit of money. That’s the plan but other than that my interest in ipod apps etc has began to fade, so much that I can’t be bothered even looking at them most of the time anymore. It’s a shame really and I’m sure I’ll find another use for this blog with the occasional mention of those things great coming out of Apple. Stay tuned for January when a conference has been arranged to reveal some new products from Apple.

Finally, towards the end of the end, something happened. It was to be called Steel This. And that’s all I’m saying on the matter because I don’t want to jinx it in 2010.

There’s so much that could happen in 2010 and I’m looking forward to it all. Bring on the new year.

Introducing the New OpenFeint Website

AuroraFeint Inc released its latest version of the website for its OpenFeint in-app social platform on the 4th of December. This new website is only in its v0.1 state at the moment so there are a number of things still missing.

But its does have a very cool new look and the team appear to have worked very hard at putting it all together.

Below are a set of screenshots showing some interesting new features to the website.

UntitledOpenFeint’s website now features large adverts for seven apps that features its platform, great advertising for some amazingly well made games.

Untitled2Everything great about OpenFeint is right there for you to see now, using similar icons from the platform itself.

Untitled3The Feint 5 is five randomly generated apps from a catalogue of currently 34 games that can be found here. I’m sure there will be many more games added to that catalogue as the site goes further and further into its lifespan, with what looking like a games area where users can search for their favourite apps. Also notice the green headers which can be clicked upon and change the order of the search so you can list by price, release date, alphabetically and even by category.

Untitled4Finally OpenFeint have introduced a more in-depth version of the adverts now shown on the front page. Every week three games are chosen from the vast list and are shown as games that the OpenFeint Team are playing, highlighting the best features and what parts of the social platform are available in this new Spotlight Section.

In other OpenFeint related news it appears 2.4 will soon be ready for release to developers with nice new features for all. More on that soon.
